Agartala, July 8, 2025: In a major step towards digital transformation, the Department of Posts is all set to launch its next-generation Advanced Platform Technology (APT) application in Tripura from July 15. The rollout will begin at the Agartala Head Post Office and extend to 25 Sub-Post Offices and their respective Branch Post Offices across the state.

This initiative, under the IT 2.0 scheme, marks a significant milestone in modernizing postal services and aims to offer enhanced user experience, faster service delivery, and a more customer-centric digital interface.

Announcing the launch, Superintendent of Post Offices (Agartala Division) Manik Lal Das said, “The new APT application will bring smart, efficient, and seamless services to customers across the state. We are committed to empowering citizens with reliable and fast digital postal solutions.”

To facilitate the transition to the new system, all listed post offices will remain closed for public transactions on July 14, as backend upgrades and system integration take place.

The 25 Sub-Post Offices and their branches to be covered under this launch include: Abhoynagar, ONGC, Dhaleswar, Mohanpur, Kunjaban, Agartala Airport, Secretariat, Jagannath Bari Road, Narayanpur, Sekerkote, Agartala Bazar, Arundhutinagar, Jampuijala, NIT Agartala, Sidhai, Agartala College, Birendranagar, Kamalghat, Ramnagar, Tripura University, Agartala Court, Bishalgarh, Khayerpur, Ranirbazar and Salbagan.

“We sincerely regret the inconvenience caused due to the one-day suspension of services on July 14, but this step is essential to ensure a smooth transition and long-term benefits for all,” Das added.

The Department of Posts emphasized that this digital leap is aligned with its broader goal of delivering more responsive and tech-enabled services to citizens across the country.
