“Tripura ready for nationwide launch of Mission for Self-Reliance in Pulses,” says Minister Ratan Lal Nath

Agartala, October 9, 2025: Tripura’s Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Minister Ratan Lal Nath on Thursday attended a crucial meeting chaired by Union Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan, ahead of the nationwide launch of the ‘Mission for Self-Reliance in Pulses’ and ‘Jan Dhan Kisan Yojana’ on October 11.

Speaking after the meeting, Minister Nath said he participated in the deliberations through video conference from the State Secretariat. Agriculture Ministers from various states also joined the discussion. “The programs will be launched across the country on October 11 at 10 a.m. in the presence of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan,” Nath stated.

He informed that the main state-level event in Tripura will be held at the State Agriculture Research Station, A.D. Nagar, Agartala, where Chief Minister Prof. (Dr.) Manik Saha will grace the occasion as the chief guest. Similar events will be organized simultaneously at district headquarters, subdivision, and block levels across the state.

Highlighting the discussions during the video conference, the minister said that detailed exchanges were held on organic and natural farming, reflecting the government’s growing focus on sustainable agricultural practices.

“The Chief Minister, MPs, MLAs, corporators, chairpersons, departmental officials, and representatives from the best-performing FPOs and FPCs will participate in the main event,” Nath added, noting that farmers practicing natural farming methods will also be specially invited to the program.
