Agartala, November 29, 2025: Tripura has registered a significant rise in tourist inflow, with 7,07,173 visitors recorded in 2024–25, Power, Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Minister Ratan Lal Nath announced on Friday evening. He said the state government’s sustained efforts to transform Tripura into a national tourism hub are beginning to show strong results.
The Minister was speaking at the inauguration of the 4th edition of Unity Promo Fest 2025 held at Vanghmun Playground in Jampui Hills, in the presence of Tourism Minister Sushanta Choudhury and Industry & Commerce Minister Santana Chakma. Nath also opened the newly renovated Eden Tourist Lodge, a key attraction in the hill range.
He said this year’s Unity Promo Fest has been expanded across six major tourist destinations—Narikerkunja, Belonia, Udaipur, Jampui Hills, Neermahal and Agartala. The festival will culminate with a grand cultural programme at Swami Vivekananda Stadium, featuring leading artists from across the country.

Highlighting the government’s tourism-driven development approach, Nath noted that the festival aims to promote Tripura’s emerging tourism potential, strengthen cultural bonds and support self-reliance through initiatives such as homestay registration.
“Tourism today is not just entertainment; it has become a major driver of economic growth and employment,” he said, stressing that Promofest serves as a platform to showcase Tripura to both domestic and international travellers.
Tourist arrivals have seen a sharp rise compared to 2016–17, when the state recorded 4,19,807 visitors. This year’s figure of 7,07,173 visitors includes 6,27,705 domestic and 79,468 foreign tourists, marking a substantial leap in Tripura’s tourism profile.
