Agartala, August 07, 2025: Tripura witnessed normal monsoon activity during July 2025, marked by 26 days of rainfall and an overall positive deviation from the monthly average, according to the latest report from the Meteorological Department in Agartala.
The data reveals that monsoon conditions were vigorous on 2 days, active on 4 days, normal on 13 days, and weak on 12 days throughout the month. Cumulatively, the state received 449.9 mm of rainfall in July, an 18% surplus over the average monthly norm of 379.8 mm.
As of July 31, the midway point of the monsoon season, Tripura has recorded a total of 850.9 mm of rainfall. This reflects a 6% excess compared to the normal seasonal accumulation of 805.7 mm.
Among individual stations, Mohanbhog in Sepahijala district topped the chart with 825.6 mm of rainfall for the month. The highest 24-hour rainfall was recorded in Belonia, South Tripura, where 295.0 mm was registered on July 9.
District-wise, Sepahijala emerged as the wettest district with 579.1 mm of rainfall 47% above normal. Conversely, Unakoti district recorded the lowest, at just 225.4 mm, representing a deficit of 34%.
Temperature readings showed that the highest maximum temperature was 36.1°C, observed at Agartala Airport on July 23. The average mean maximum temperature for the month stood at 32.6°C, slightly above normal by 0.5°C.
The Meteorological Department concluded that despite regional variations, the overall monsoon performance in Tripura for July remained within the normal range.
