Agartala, January 01, 2025: In a major drug bust, the Railway Protection Force (RPF) seized 200 packets of Yaba tablets valued at over Rs 50 lakh from the Mumbai-Agartala Express on Sunday evening. The operation was carried out at Jirania Railway Station, where one suspect identified as Habibul Rahman from Udaipur was arrested.

“During a routine search of the train at Jirania, we noticed a suspicious individual. Upon further inspection, we recovered a bag containing approximately 200 packets of Yaba tablets,” said Commandant BK Sinha of the RPF.

According to officials, the accused revealed during interrogation that he had collected the bag from Badarpur Railway Station and was en route to Tripura. “This is a significant seizure that highlights the ongoing efforts to curb the smuggling of narcotics through railways,” added Sinha.

The arrested individual has been handed over to local authorities, and further investigation is underway to identify others involved in the drug trafficking network. Authorities emphasized the need for heightened vigilance in combating such illegal activities.
