Agartala, December 07, 2026: The Alumni Meet held in Bengaluru showcased inspiring journeys of youth from Tripura who have transformed their lives through the DDU-GKY scheme implemented by Tripura Rural Livelihood Mission (TRLM). The event brought together beneficiaries, employers, and stakeholders, celebrating the impact of skill development initiatives.
Bidyadhar Chakma from Chawmanu in Dhalai District shared how he enrolled in the DDU-GKY program during a Kausal Mela (Job Mela) with the support of TRLM. Today, he is placed at Amazon and earns Rs 33,000 per month. Although he misses the flavors of home, he has developed a fondness for local delicacies like idlis. He regularly sends money back to his family in Tripura and expressed heartfelt gratitude to the Chief Minister and the state government for enabling his journey.
Ganga Das, after completing her Electrician training under TRLM, secured employment with Tata. She proudly shared that she is now financially independent and supports her parents by sending money home.
Sampa Das Sarkar from Melagharh, who underwent six months of training under the DDU-GKY scheme, is now working at Amazon with a monthly salary of Rs 21,000. She emphasized how the program has empowered her to become financially independent and contribute to her family’s well-being.
The Alumni Meet concluded successfully with the active participation of the Karnataka SRLM team, the Regional Head of the National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC), Project Implementing Agencies (PIAs), and employers.
The gathering highlighted the collaborative efforts of government agencies, training partners, and employers in creating sustainable livelihoods for rural youth.
