Tripura Signs MoU with AIIMS Delhi to Elevate State’s Healthcare Infrastructure: CM Dr Manik Saha

Agartala, October 15, 2025: In a significant move to enhance healthcare services in Tripura, the Department of Health and Family Welfare, Government of Tripura, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), New Delhi, on Wednesday. The agreement aims to transform medical institutions across the state into centers of excellence and improve access to advanced medical care.

The signing ceremony, held at Tripura Bhavan in New Delhi, was attended by Tripura Chief Minister Prof. Dr. Manik Saha, who hailed the MoU as a milestone in the state’s healthcare journey.

“This partnership is a matter of pride for us. It will help elevate our medical colleges and hospitals to international standards in education and super specialty services,” said Chief Minister Saha.

He further announced plans to develop Agartala Government Medical College and GB Pant Hospital into a modern medical hub modeled after AIIMS Delhi, integrating cutting-edge facilities and specialized care.

Highlighting AIIMS’s global reputation, both the Chief Minister and Health Minister emphasized the institution’s leadership in medical education, research, and patient care. They expressed confidence that the collaboration would significantly improve the quality and reach of health services across Tripura.

Dr. M. Srinivas, Director of AIIMS Delhi, along with senior officials from Tripura’s Health Department, were present at the event, underscoring the strategic importance of the partnership.

This MoU marks a pivotal step toward strengthening Tripura’s healthcare ecosystem and ensuring better medical outcomes for its citizens.
