Agartala, November 19, 2025: Tripura Finance Minister Pranajit Singha Roy has confirmed that the state government has already submitted all necessary documents related to government employees to the 16th Finance Commission, while also forwarding reports on the 8th Pay Commission to the Centre.
Speaking to reporters at Civil Secretariat here in Agartala city on Wednesday afternoon, Roy highlighted that the Central government, on November 3, 2025, constituted a committee under the chairmanship of Justice Ranjana Prakash to examine and recommend the implementation of the 8th Pay Commission. The committee has been given 18 months to submit its report.
“Automatically, most of the states are following up the commission formed by the Central government. However, it is whispered in different places including social media regarding the 16th Finance Commission. But the state government has already submitted all kinds of necessary requirements related to government employees to the commission. And not only this, we have also submitted the reports regarding the 8th Pay Commission to the Centre,” Roy stated.
He further informed that Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha has been in regular communication with Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman and Prime Minister Narendra Modi on these issues, ensuring that Tripura’s concerns and requirements are duly represented at the national level.
The announcement comes amid growing discussions across states about the financial implications of the upcoming pay revisions and allocations under the Finance Commission.
