Agartala, February 17, 2026: Tripura Police have arrested Dulal Chandra Shil, a teacher under the 10,323 category, on charges of sexually assaulting a minor boy. The arrest was made late Sunday night after Shil had been absconding since the case was filed.

According to Khowai Police Station Officer-in-Charge Krishnadhan Sarkar, the father of the minor lodged a complaint on February 13 under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act, alleging that his son had been sexually assaulted by Shil. The boy later disclosed the incident to his family, prompting his father to approach the police.

Following the complaint, Shil went into hiding. After days of search, police managed to apprehend him and confirmed that a case has been registered under the POCSO Act.

Authorities stated that further investigation is underway.
