Tripura: Three Bangladeshi Nationals Booked at Kamalpur, Handed Over to Police

Agartala, December 11, 2025: Residents of Tripura’s Lambuchhara area under Kamalpur police station of Dhalai district detained three Bangladeshi nationals on Thursday after spotting them roaming suspiciously in the locality. Upon questioning, the men admitted to being Bangladeshi citizens.

Local villagers subsequently handed them over to Kamalpur police. According to preliminary information, the trio had illegally crossed the Indian border with the intention of traveling to Bengaluru.

Police are now investigating how they managed to cross the border and whether any organized network was involved in facilitating their entry. The three detainees are being interrogated at Kamalpur police station.

The incident has sparked tension and curiosity among locals, with authorities tightening inquiries to determine the broader implications of the illegal entry.
