“During a routine joint search operation conducted at the railway station, three persons were found moving suspiciously. On further inspection, we recovered 9 kg 335 grams of ganja from their luggage,” confirmed the Officer-in-Charge of the GRP Police Station.
The arrested individuals have been identified as Prallad Kumar, a resident of Azampur, Bihar; Ravita Devi (38), from Bhagalpur, Bihar; and Janmjoy Nunia from Silchar, Assam. All three were immediately taken into custody.
Police have registered a case under relevant sections of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act and have initiated further investigation to determine the source and destination of the contraband.
