Agartala, July 05, 2025: Tipra Motha has intensified its stance against alleged Bangladeshi infiltration, launching a symbolic foot march to Delhi from Agartala on Saturday. The party’s leaders began their journey from North Gate with the destination set for Jantar Mantar in the national capital, aiming to raise the issue at the national level.
Speaking on the occasion, Tipra Motha leader David Murasingh said, “Bangladeshi infiltration is an international problem. The role of the state government in resolving it has not been effective. That is why I am heading to Delhi to send a message to the central leadership to take concrete steps.”
Murasingh claimed that due to unchecked infiltration, many indigenous people in Tripura are losing their rightful access to opportunities and resources. “Our people are being deprived of their rights. Despite submitting several deputations, no solution has come. We are now left with no choice but to march to Delhi to demand action,” he added.
Supporting the initiative, MDC and former Tipra Motha supremo Pradyot Kishore Debbarma lauded the leaders for their determination. “David Murasingh and others have taken a strong step to walk to Delhi for the cause of all Tiprasa people. I am with them. This initiative deserves everyone’s support,” he said.
The march is expected to culminate in a protest at Jantar Mantar, where the leaders plan to press the central government for urgent intervention.
