Tripura: TNGCL Hikes CNG and PNG Prices in Tripura Amid Rising Gas Procurement Costs

Agartala, April 02, 2026: Tripura Natural Gas Company Limited (TNGCL) has announced an increase in the prices of Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) and Piped Natural Gas (PNG) across the state, citing a rise in gas procurement costs.

According to the revised rates, in Tripura’s West Tripura district, CNG prices have been raised from Rs 82 to Rs 85.15 per kg, while in Gomati district, the price has increased from Rs 86.80 to Rs 89.95 per kg. The new CNG rates came into effect from April 2.

PNG domestic consumers in West Tripura will now pay Rs 44.41 per standard cubic metre (SCM), up from Rs 42.30 per SCM. For government quarters, the rate has increased from Rs 47.02 to Rs 49.12 per SCM. In Gomati district, domestic PNG prices have been revised upward from Rs 46.54 to Rs 48.53 per SCM.

Commercial and industrial PNG consumers in West Tripura will now be charged Rs 56.23 per SCM against the previous Rs 53.27 per SCM, while in Gomati district the revised rate is Rs 53.57 per SCM, up from Rs 49.37 per SCM.

At the Bodhjungnagar Industrial Growth Centre, PNG prices for industrial use have also been increased from Rs 39.65 to Rs 42.90 per SCM.

The price revision is expected to have a direct impact on domestic consumers, transport operators, commercial establishments, and industries across the state, as fuel costs rise further.
