Agartala, December 06, 2025: Tripura Tourism Minister Sushanta Chowdhury on Saturday inspected the proposed site at Sachindranagar Colony in Jirania, where a modern eco-tourism, adventure tourism and water park is planned to be developed.

He was accompanied by Tourism Secretary Uttam Kumar Chakma, Director Prashant Badal Negi, noted social worker Ranjit Roy Choudhury and local representatives. The team reviewed the land earmarked for the ambitious tourism infrastructure project.

During the visit, the minister said tourism has a crucial role in building an Atmanirbhar and developed Tripura. He stated that the proposed park, to be developed on the model of Kolkata’s Nicco Park, is aimed at placing Tripura’s tourism sector on the global map while creating new employment opportunities for the state’s youth and attracting both domestic and international visitors.

The minister added that the inspection was carried out with the objective of initiating construction work at the earliest.

Officials stated that the project aligns with the government’s vision of strengthening tourism as a key driver of socio-economic development. By combining eco-tourism with adventure and water-based attractions, the initiative is expected to diversify Tripura’s tourism offerings and reinforce its profile as a vibrant travel destination.
