Agartala, August 29, 2025: Transport Minister Sushanta Chowdhury on Friday chaired a high-level review meeting at the Secretariat to assess the progress of projects sanctioned under the Special Assistance to States for Capital Investment 2024-25.
The meeting was attended by the Secretary and Commissioner of the Transport Department, PWD (Rural Development) Chief Engineer, CEO of Tripura Housing Board, and senior officials from all eight districts.
Key discussions included the preparation of Detailed Project Reports (DPRs) for proposed motor stands at Kalyanpur, Sidhai Mohanpur, Manubazar, Jatanbari, and Bishalgarh. Officials were instructed to ensure encroachment-free land and complete demarcation for the projects.
A major agenda point was the plan to set up a Registered Vehicles Scrapping Facility at Sidhai Mohanpur, aimed at modernizing vehicle disposal in Tripura. The review also covered revenue enhancement strategies for 2025-26 and the progress of ongoing enforcement drives.
Minister Chowdhury emphasized strict timelines and inter-departmental coordination. “Timely completion of DPRs and efficient execution are crucial for the success of these projects,” he said.
