Agartala, March 17, 2026: A two-day Awareness Workshop on Information Security Management System (ISMS) based on ISO/IS 27001:2017 was inaugurated on Tuesday at IT Bhavan in Agartala, with the first day of the programme currently in progress.
The workshop is being organised by the Directorate of Information Technology, Government of Tripura, in collaboration with the Electronics Test and Development Centre (ETDC), STQC Directorate, functioning under the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY), Government of India.
The inaugural session was graced by Jeya Ragul Geshan B, Director of Information Technology, Government of Tripura, who formally launched the workshop and highlighted the importance of robust information security frameworks in the era of digital governance.
Officials and officers from various State government departments, particularly those involved in managing and operating Critical Information Infrastructure (CII), are actively participating in the programme. The workshop aims to enhance their technical understanding of information security standards and best practices aligned with ISO/IS 27001:2017.
Through this initiative, the State Government seeks to strengthen its digital governance ecosystem by building capacity among key personnel and ensuring the protection of sensitive information assets against emerging cyber threats.
