Agartala, January 6, 2026: The North Tripura district committee of the Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) has submitted a memorandum to the Border Security Force (BSF), demanding the immediate closure of the Ragna border in protest against alleged persecution of minority Hindus in Bangladesh.

The memorandum was formally addressed to the BSF Commandant at the Ragna border outpost.

In the document, VHP leaders alleged that minority Hindus in Bangladesh are facing continuous persecution, violence, and killings. They argued that under such circumstances, all forms of trade and communication through the border should be suspended without delay.

The VHP emphasized that national dignity and the safety of minorities must take precedence over economic interests. The organization urged the administration to take swift action and escalate the matter to higher authorities for urgent consideration.

The memorandum carried the signatures of the president and secretary of the VHP’s North Tripura district committee.
