Tripura Youth Shubham Nama Secures Third Place at Indian Student Parliament in Pune

Agartala, May 20, 2025: Bringing pride to the state, Shubham Nama of Tripura’s Melaghar, Sonamura Sub-division under Sepahijala district has secured the third position at the prestigious 14th Indian Student Parliament held in Pune, Maharashtra. The national-level event, organized by the MIT School of Government, took place over three days from February 8 to 10.

Shubham, a B.Tech graduate in Rubber Technology, competed with student representatives from across the country. Speaking to reporters, Shubham said, “I had applied online for the 2023–24 session but was not selected. However, I didn’t give up and applied again this year. After a virtual discussion round, I was invited to Pune.”

His topic of discussion was “Ideology and Education System in Indian Politics”. Following a three-minute virtual session, Shubham was selected to present in Pune, where he impressed the jury and secured third place. The finalists also had the opportunity to present their thoughts in front of Members of Parliament.

Expressing gratitude, Shubham shared, “It was a life-changing experience. I am humbled to have represented my state and will soon be honored with the President’s Award.”

Celebrating his success, Shubhrajit Das, a noted social worker and president of 22-Sonamura BJP Mandal, felicitated Shubham with a souvenir and a congratulatory letter. “Such young talents are the future of our country. I hope Shubham and others like him will play an active role in shaping India’s political landscape,” said Das.
