Agartala, June 02, 2026: In a significant boost to rural employment and green energy initiatives, 18 candidates from Below Poverty Line (BPL) families have secured placements after successfully completing training under the Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Grameen Kaushalya Yojana (DDU-GKY) 2.0 in Tripura.
The candidates were trained as Solar Photovoltaic Technicians at New Directions Educational Society and have been placed at Mahamaya Traders, Agartala. The selected candidates will receive an annual Cost to Company (CTC) package of ₹1.44 lakh along with additional performance-based incentives.
Officials associated with the programme said the achievement highlights the positive impact of skill development initiatives in creating sustainable livelihood opportunities for rural youth while addressing the growing demand for skilled manpower in the renewable energy sector.
The placement assumes added significance in view of the increasing number of solar energy installations being undertaken under the Central Government’s PM Surya Ghar: Muft Bijli Yojana. Trained solar technicians are expected to play a crucial role in supporting the implementation of the scheme and promoting the adoption of clean energy solutions across the state.
The successful placement of the trainees is being seen as a step forward in strengthening Tripura’s renewable energy ecosystem while empowering economically disadvantaged youth with industry-relevant skills and employment opportunities.
The candidates were congratulated on their achievement and wished success in their professional careers as they embark on their journey in the rapidly expanding solar energy sector.
