Agartala, January 20, 2026: The Sripur GP Bamboo Crafts & Jewellery Making Unit, nurtured under the Tripura Rural Livelihood Mission (TRLM), has achieved a significant milestone by moving from skill training to national market recognition.
At the 3rd District SARAS Fair, the group showcased a range of innovative bamboo products, including mobile stands and decorative items. Their craftsmanship drew immediate attention, culminating in a confirmed order from a Delhi-based buyer for 25 bamboo lamps valued at ₹10,000. The lamps, now packed and ready for dispatch, are set to brighten homes and offices in the capital, potentially paving the way for wider market opportunities beyond Tripura.

The fair also generated promising leads, with bulk enquiries for handmade jewellery and bamboo cups—an encouraging sign of rising demand for eco-friendly, artisanal products.
Officials noted that the achievement reflects both the dedication of local artisans and the institutional support provided by TRLM. With expanding reach and growing interest from outside the state, the Sripur GP unit stands as a testament to how rural entrepreneurship can transform livelihoods and bring Tripura’s craftsmanship to national attention.
