Agartala, June 04, 2026: In a significant achievement for Tripura, Bijoy Nagar Gram Panchayat has been selected for the prestigious National Awards for e-Governance 2026 under the category of Grassroots Level Initiatives by Gram Panchayats for Deepening and Widening Service Delivery through Digitisation.
The announcement was made by the Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions on Thursday. Bijoy Nagar Gram Panchayat is among 17 projects and initiatives selected across seven award categories for exemplary contributions in the field of e-Governance.
The National Awards for e-Governance (NAeG) are presented annually to recognize innovation, digital transformation and citizen-centric governance initiatives across the country. Awardees will receive a trophy, certificate and financial incentive, with Gold Award winners receiving ₹10 lakh and Silver Award winners receiving ₹5 lakh for further public welfare and development activities.
The awards will be presented during the 29th National Conference on e-Governance to be held in Jaipur, Rajasthan.
The recognition of Bijoy Nagar Gram Panchayat highlights Tripura’s growing success in leveraging digital governance at the grassroots level and strengthening public service delivery through technology.
