Agartala, September 12, 2025: Agartala’s Maharaja Bir Bikram (MBB) Airport will celebrate Yatri Seva Diwas on September 16 and 17, with a series of activities aimed at enhancing passenger experience and promoting community participation.
Airport Director K.C. Meena said, “Yatri Seva Diwas is an opportunity for us to reaffirm our commitment to passenger welfare. We are organizing multiple outreach activities not just for air travelers but also for the larger public connected with the airport.”
On September 16, the observance will begin with a media briefing, where details of the program will be shared with local print, electronic, and social media. Banners and flexes will also be displayed at vantage points across the airport to spread awareness.
September 17 will witness a host of passenger-friendly events. Arriving passengers will be welcomed with tika, while a tree plantation drive under the theme “Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam” will be organized, with participation from local dignitaries and senior citizens. The airport premises will come alive with folk dance performances during peak hours.
To engage children, a quiz and painting competition on patriotism will be conducted inside the terminal, while a photo booth with airport branding will be installed at various passenger touchpoints. Health initiatives will include a blood donation camp and free health check-up kiosks, with special eye check-ups for auto and taxi drivers outside the terminal.
In addition, school students from classes 10 to 12 will visit the airport for familiarization and career guidance in the aviation sector. Social media influencers will also create vlogs to highlight the airport’s facilities and smooth passenger journey.
Airport Director Meena emphasized, “We want every traveler to feel valued and cared for. These initiatives—from cultural programs to health camps—are designed to make air travel more welcoming and inclusive.”
The two-day event will conclude with a media debriefing on September 17 at 5 p.m., where the airport management will share highlights and feedback from passengers.
