Agartala, November 28, 2025: The Tripura Rural Livelihood Mission (TRLM) has registered a sharp and steady rise in its annual budget over the past nine years, marking a significant boost to the state’s rural development and women-led livelihood programmes.

The upward trend comes as a TRLM delegation, headed by CEO Tarit Kanti Chakma, IAS, is attending the National Workshop in Hyderabad to prepare the Annual Action Plan (AAP) for 2026–27. Officials said the increase in allocations reflects both enhanced central support and Tripura’s strong performance under the National Rural Livelihood Mission (NRLM).

Data reveals that TRLM’s budget has expanded more than tenfold since 2017–18. The allocation, which was Rs 51.77 crore in 2017–18, rose to Rs 99.53 crore in 2018–19 and Rs 174.50 crore in 2019–20. It further climbed to Rs 182.28 crore in 2020–21 and Rs 192.93 crore in 2021–22, later revised to Rs 258.81 crore.

The Mission received Rs 268.46 crore in 2022–23, followed by Rs 339.27 crore in 2023–24. The budget touched Rs 417.02 crore in 2024–25 and reached its highest so far at Rs 528.20 crore for 2025–26.

According to officials, the consistent increase in funding has strengthened the implementation of livelihood, skill development and enterprise-promotion initiatives, benefiting nearly five lakh Self-Help Group (SHG) members and rural households across the state.
