Agartala, March 31, 2026: The Tripura Rural Livelihood Mission (TRLM) is set to launch a new mobile application, ‘Saral App’, aimed at addressing diverse market-related needs of Self-Help Group (SHG) members, popularly known as “Didis,” across the state.

At present, TRLM operates around 80 Livelihood Support Centers (LSCs) across Tripura. These centres function as small warehouses or retail outlets, managed by SHG members themselves, and cater to local demands for inputs and raw materials essential for farm-based livelihood activities.

In addition to SHGs, TRLM also supports Producer Groups under the Tripura Rural Economic Growth and Service Delivery Project, which require a steady supply of raw materials and agricultural inputs for their operations.

The upcoming ‘Saral App’ will digitally connect SHG members and rural consumers with these Livelihood Support Centers. Through the app, users will be able to place orders online for necessary inputs and materials, ensuring timely access and greater convenience.

Officials believe that the initiative will significantly enhance the trade volume of LSCs while improving their profit margins. Moreover, the platform is expected to expand market reach beyond SHG members, allowing other interested villagers to access the services.

The move marks a step forward in strengthening rural livelihoods through digital inclusion and improved supply chain systems, empowering women-led enterprises across Tripura.
