Agartala, March 26, 2026: The Tripura Rural Livelihood Mission has prepared an ambitious action plan for the financial year 2026–27 under its non-farm sector, with major investments aimed at strengthening rural entrepreneurship, livelihood infrastructure, and market connectivity across the state.
Under the annual action plan, TRLM has placed special emphasis on facilitating the “Crorepati Didi” initiative by partnering with Indian Institute of Management Calcutta to mentor 150 high-potential rural enterprises. An amount of Rs 568 lakh has been earmarked for this initiative to support women entrepreneurs in scaling up their businesses.
A major push has also been planned under the Start-up Village Entrepreneurship Programme (SVEP) and Micro Enterprise Development (MED) scheme, with a target to ground 6,187 enterprises through SVEP and provide training to 1,580 first-generation entrepreneurs under MED.
To strengthen support services for rural enterprises, TRLM will establish three One Stop Facilities (OSFs) across 12 blocks, aimed at providing advanced business support to 1,350 aspiring entrepreneurs.
In the non-farm collective sector, 100 new Non-Farm Clusters (NFCs) will be formed during the upcoming financial year with an investment of Rs 700 lakh, expanding the existing network of livelihood clusters.
A significant investment of Rs 1,000 lakh has also been earmarked for integrated value chain infrastructure, particularly for bamboo and handloom processing and value-addition centres, with focus on bamboo-based clusters to improve production and market access.
Among major livelihood infrastructure projects, Rs 800 lakh has been allocated for community-based tourism, Rs 500 lakh for strengthening model NFCs, and Rs 180 lakh for district food hubs.
Under the Aajeevika Grameen Express Yojana (AGEY) Phase-III, 30 new community-managed vehicles will be deployed across 15 blocks to improve transport and logistics support for self-help group products and rural market access.
The plan reflects TRLM’s strategy to scale up rural enterprises from grassroots ventures to sustainable income-generating units through incubation, infrastructure creation, and structured institutional support.
