Agartala, February 9, 2026: A major development initiative worth ₹277.11 crore, funded by the World Bank, is being implemented in Tripura under the Tripura Rural Economic Growth and Service Delivery Project (TRESP). The project is being executed by the Tripura Rural Livelihood Mission (TRLM) with a special focus on areas under the Tripura Tribal Areas Autonomous District Council (TTAADC), aiming to strengthen livelihoods and economic opportunities in tribal regions.
An Executive Committee meeting in connection with the project was held on Monday under the chairmanship of the Secretary, Tribal Welfare Department. The meeting reviewed the progress of TRESP and discussed implementation strategies to ensure effective utilization of funds and timely achievement of project objectives in the targeted areas.
Chief Executive Officer of TRLM, Tarit Kanti Chakma, IAS, participated in the meeting along with senior officials and staff members of the mission. Key aspects related to project monitoring, inter-departmental coordination, and field-level execution were deliberated during the session.
In a related development, a separate review meeting on the Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Grameen Kaushalya Yojana (DDUGKY) was also conducted under the chairmanship of CEO TRLM Tarit Kanti Chakma, IAS. The review was held in the presence of Deputy CEO Subhabrata Bhattacharya, Chief Operating Officer (Skills) Sankaraj Roy, and members of the state team.
Officials from Technical Support Agencies (TSA) and NABCONS attended the DDUGKY review meeting, where progress on skill development, placement outcomes, and implementation challenges were assessed. The discussions focused on strengthening coordination among stakeholders to improve skill training delivery and enhance employment opportunities for rural youth across the state.
The meetings highlighted the state government’s commitment to inclusive development, particularly in tribal and rural areas, through effective implementation of World Bank–assisted and centrally sponsored schemes.
