Agartala, February 09, 2026: Tripura Santiniketan Medical College and Hospital Chairman Malay Pit was felicitated at TV9 Bangla’s special event “Uttorer Khoje 2026” for his remarkable contributions to healthcare and social service. The ceremony, held on Thursday evening at Montana Vista in Siliguri, featured leadership-driven discussions on the development priorities of North Bengal and the Northeast.

Pit received the honor for his pioneering efforts in expanding healthcare access, promoting humane medical practices, and initiating welfare-driven projects.

Tripura Santiniketan Medical College is not merely an institution for producing doctors—it is built on the philosophy of delivering modern, quality, and affordable healthcare to marginalized communities. In regions long deprived of advanced medical infrastructure, the college has emerged as a trusted lifeline for the people of the Northeast.

With a team of experienced doctors, modern hospital facilities, and patient-centric services, the institution has quickly earned public confidence. Its symbolic initiative of providing OPD services at just Rs 10 has set a strong example of accessible healthcare.

On February 2, 2026, the college launched its Indoor Patient Department (IPD), marking a historic milestone for Tripura’s healthcare. Until now, patients requiring complex surgeries or long-term treatment often had to travel outside the state. The new IPD ensures admission, continuous care, specialist consultation, and round-the-clock monitoring under one roof.

One of the most distinctive aspects of the hospital is its complete management under women leadership. Developed through structured training and skill-building under the “Positive Barta” initiative over the past two years, women leaders now oversee administrative and operational responsibilities. This model of women-led healthcare management stands as an inspiring example not only for Tripura but for the entire Northeast.

The college has also made its mark in education. By enrolling students from 21 states in its first batch, it secured recognition in the India Book of Records, Asia Book of Records, and World Book of Records. The second-year admissions have also been successfully completed this year.

Accepting the honor, Malay Pit said: “This recognition is not mine alone. It belongs to our doctors, nurses, health workers, and all those who believe that quality healthcare is the right of every individual.”

He further pledged to expand the institution’s reach to deliver advanced healthcare across Tripura and neighboring states.

Guests at the event noted that the college has set a benchmark in bringing modern medical education and services to border and underserved regions. They expressed hope that the award would further energize healthcare and welfare initiatives in the public interest.

In essence, Tripura Santiniketan Medical College is fast becoming a trusted destination for affordable, modern, and compassionate healthcare in Tripura and the Northeast.
