Security Forces on Friday arrested an alleged arms smuggler, identified as Karam Mani Meitei (35), from his residence at Thongju Part-II, Pichu Lampak Ningombam Leirak, under Singjamei Police Station in Imphal West district.

During the operation, a 9 mm pistol along with a magazine was seized from his possession, officials said.

In a separate operation on Thursday, Security Forces arrested another alleged arms smuggler, Thoudam Ranjan Singh (41), a resident of Leimakhong Mapal Mamang Leikai in Imphal East district. He was apprehended from his locality under Lamlai Police Station, Imphal East.

Security personnel recovered nine rounds of 9 mm ammunition from the accused. Further investigation is underway in both cases.
