Manipur Police arrested two individuals in separate operations on September 9 for possession of restricted pharmaceutical drugs and cannabis.

In Thoubal district, a 35-year-old woman identified as Ruhina of Sangaiyumpham Cherapur Mathak Leikai was arrested during a raid at her residence under Thoubal police station. Police recovered 120 SAMPFX+ capsules, 29 bottles of TUSSREX-TR cough syrup, eight empty concealment cases, and several identification documents. The seized items have been taken into custody for further investigation.

On the same day in Imphal West district, police apprehended 22-year-old Bangkin Oinam of Heingang Mayai Leikai from the North AOC area under Imphal police station. A total of 6.955 kilograms of cannabis was recovered from his possession.

Police said both arrests are part of ongoing efforts to curb the smuggling and circulation of illegal drugs and contraband substances in the state.
