A joint team of Manipur Police and the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) arrested two individuals along with suspected heroin in Manipur on Friday, August 15, 2025.

The arrested persons have been identified as Jenarul Mia (21), son of Janjali Mia of Shasani, Maldah district, West Bengal, and Deba Das (18), son of Lakshi Das of Ward No. 2, Bokajan Bazar, Karbi Anglong district, Assam.

During the operation, security forces seized two packets of suspected heroin powder weighing 2.066 kilograms from their possession. Additionally, two mobile phones and a motorcycle used for transporting the drugs were also confiscated.

Police said further investigation is underway.
