In two successful operations, the Anti-Narcotics Task Force (ANTF) of West Garo Hills District seized large quantities of psychotropic substances and arrested multiple individuals involved in drug trafficking.

In the first operation, acting on intelligence about drug movement from Phulbari to Tura, ANTF intercepted Johnsbirth R. Marak and Chayang Ch. Marak at Tebronggre, Soil Compound area. A search recovered 2,873 Senspa+ capsules (1,106.105 grams) from Johnsbirth and 7 capsules (2.095 grams) from Chayang. Both were arrested under the NDPS Act.

In a second operation on 11th October, ANTF conducted a house search at Rakizul Sheikh’s residence in Patharkata village, recovering 122 reddish tablets, 10 bottles (1,000 ml) of Tuscorex cough syrup, and 6,022 Syndex Plus capsules. A case has been registered under Tikrikilla PS Case No. 28/2025 U/S 22(b)(c) of the NDPS Act.
