Agartala, July 30, 2025: In notable career advancement, two senior IPS officers from the Tripura cadre Rajiv Singh and Anurag have been empanelled for appointment to the rank of Director General (DG) or equivalent posts in the Government of India.

Rajiv Singh, a 1993-batch IPS officer presently serving as the Director General of Police in Manipur, has received clearance for central appointments at the DG or equivalent level. Anurag, from the 1994 batch and currently the DGP of Tripura, has also been included in the panel for similar high-ranking positions.

This empanelment paves the way for both officers to be considered for leadership roles in key central government departments, agencies, or paramilitary forces. Their selection underscores the increasing prominence of officers from the northeastern cadre in top-tier national policing and administrative structures.

The inclusion of both officers is seen as a recognition of their service records and leadership in challenging assignments, and it highlights the evolving role of northeastern states in contributing to national governance.
