Unakoti DM, SP conduct joint inspection along international border, security measures intensified

Agartala, May 28, 2026: The District Magistrate (DM) Megha Jain and Superintendent of Police (SP) Sudhambika R of Unakoti district jointly conducted an inspection of several areas along the district’s international border to assess the prevailing security situation and review border management measures.

During the visit, the senior administrative and police officials inspected multiple Border Outposts (BOPs) and examined various aspects related to border security, including the condition of barbed-wire fencing in vulnerable stretches.

As part of the inspection, the officials also interacted with local residents residing in border areas and gathered feedback regarding security concerns and cross-border activities. Detailed discussions were reportedly held on issues related to infiltration and smuggling across the border.

According to sources in the Tripura Police, the district administration and security agencies have jointly adopted several initiatives to further strengthen border surveillance and prevent illegal activities. Surveillance in sensitive areas has been intensified, regular patrolling has been increased, and strict monitoring of suspicious movement is being carried out to curb infiltration and smuggling.

Officials stated that the administration remains committed to maintaining peace, security, and vigilance along the international border.
