The Regional Head of United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) for North East India – John Borgoyary, along with other delegates today called-on the Manipur Chief Minister – N. Biren Singh; and discussed about the strategies to ensure the sustainable economic growth, infrastructure development and effective implementation of welfare schemes across the state.
Taking to Twitter, the Manipur CM wrote “I was called on by Regional Head, NE India UNDP, Shri John Borgoyary, Smt Rita, and others at my office. The state government’s policies for sustainable economic growth, infrastructure development and other welfare programs were discussed.”

Its worthy to note that the UNDP has been striving to provide technical support to districts of the Northeastern states; along the areas of Health and Nutrition, Education, Agriculture and Water Resources, Financial inclusion and skill development and Basic Infrastructure.
The programme intends to implement the best practices for achieving sustainable development across the region.
