Agartala, November 25, 2025: Union Tribal Affairs Minister Jual Oram arrived in Agartala on Tuesday afternoon, marking the beginning of a packed schedule focused on assessing tribal development initiatives across Tripura. Officials from the State Tribal Welfare Department reached the Maharaja Bir Bikram Airport ahead of time to receive him. As Oram exited through the VIP gate, he was warmly welcomed by Tripura Tribal Welfare Minister Bikash Debbarma.
According to official sources, the agenda of the visit centers on reviewing the progress of central government schemes, development projects for tribal communities, and planning future initiatives. The visit is expected to extend beyond formal meetings, with the Union Minister scheduled to travel directly to various tribal-dominated regions of the state.
Special emphasis will be placed on evaluating on-ground progress in key sectors including education, healthcare, communication infrastructure, and livelihood development in hilly and remote areas.
Officials said one of Oram’s key priorities is to gather detailed reports on the implementation status of central schemes, identify bottlenecks in administration, and ensure effective execution. Beginning from Agartala, he will tour multiple districts for field-level inspections.
Insiders believe the visit may provide a fresh boost to tribal development in Tripura. Both government officials and local residents are hopeful that the combined efforts of Oram and Minister Debbarma will accelerate developmental momentum in the state’s tribal regions.
