Vice President C. P. Radhakrishnan addressed the 20th Convocation of Mizoram University on Saturday, congratulating graduating students and urging them to play a key role in building a developed India by 2047.
Speaking at the event, he highlighted the transformation of the Northeast over the past decade, noting that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the region has been placed at the centre of India’s development agenda.
He emphasized that improved connectivity, including the recently inaugurated Bairabi–Sairang railway line, has reshaped the Northeast, making it closer to opportunities rather than distant from Delhi.
The convocation was attended by the Governor of Mizoram and Chief Rector of Mizoram University, General (Dr.) Vijay Kumar Singh (Retd.), Chief Minister Lalduhoma, Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dibakar Chandra Deka, and other dignitaries.
