Agartala, June 09, 2025: Tripura Agriculture Minister Ratan Lal Nath on Sunday emphasized that the Viksit Krishi Sankalp Abhiyan is a key initiative to familiarize farmers with modern agricultural technologies and inform them about beneficial state and central schemes aimed at improving their livelihoods.
Speaking at an event organized at the Old Town Hall in Sabroom as part of the campaign’s 9th-day activities, Minister Nath said, “Our primary goal is to empower farmers by equipping them with updated technology and knowledge of the schemes that can transform their agricultural practices.”
The nationwide campaign, which began on May 29, will run till June 12. In Tripura, it has already seen a remarkable response. “We have already connected with 1.20 lakh farmers in the state so far, excluding today’s turnout. Our target is to reach 1.70 lakh, and the growing interest among the farming community makes us hopeful of surpassing it,” the minister informed.
Highlighting the scale of the outreach, he said, “Today alone, 72 meetings were organized across Tripura. In total, 864 such meetings will be held under this initiative.”
Minister Nath also pointed out the persistent gap in awareness among many farmers regarding existing agricultural welfare schemes. “Through this campaign, we are reaching out to those who were left behind. We are also conducting soil health testing, enabling farmers to make informed choices for better yield. This kind of comprehensive initiative is unprecedented in our state,” he added.
The Viksit Krishi Sankalp Abhiyan continues to draw attention as a significant step toward empowering the agricultural community and advancing sustainable farming practices in Tripura.
