Agartala, February 16, 2026: A special fire safety awareness camp was successfully organized at the premises of Tripura Santiniketan Medical College with the sincere initiative of women entrepreneurs and the active cooperation of the Tripura Fire Department. The programme witnessed enthusiastic participation from common people, health workers, and students from different parts of the country, all of whom gained vital lessons that can be applied in real-life emergency situations.
During the camp, fire department officials explained, in simple and engaging language, how to remain calm and act patiently in the event of a fire. Special emphasis was laid on avoiding panic and following basic safety protocols. The officials also demonstrated the correct methods of using fire extinguishers, including how to hold them, where to aim, and how to spray effectively during emergencies.
Participants were educated on preventive and protective measures in case of fires caused by gas cylinder leaks or electrical short circuits, highlighting ways to safeguard not only oneself but also family members. The practical demonstrations conducted alongside the lectures made the session easy to understand and highly effective.
The presence and participation of women were particularly notable. Many women attendees actively interacted with the officials, asked questions, and clarified their doubts, reflecting growing awareness and responsibility toward community safety.
This initiative by women entrepreneurs once again proved that women are playing a leading role in promoting safety and awareness in society. As fire-related accidents can occur suddenly, prior awareness and training can significantly reduce risks and prevent major disasters. Such awareness programmes are truly life-saving, especially for people in villages and semi-urban areas, and deserve wider encouragement and support.
