Deputy Commissioner of Bishnupur, Pooja Elangbam, today distributed battery-operated sprayers and hand weeders/hand wheel hoes (manual) to farmers of the district under the second instalment of the Rashtriya Krishi Vikas Yojana (RKVY) Cafeteria, 2023-24.

The distribution programme, held at the Mini Secretariat Complex, Bishnupur, benefitted a total of 39 individuals from across the district, including one internally displaced person currently staying at a relief camp.

District Horticulture and Soil Conservation Officer, Bishnupur, Soibam Sushila Chanu, who was present at the event, underlined the importance of the farming tools. She said that the battery-operated sprayers would help farmers save time and labour while ensuring efficiency, whereas the hand weeders would assist in effectively removing weeds, thereby improving overall farm productivity.

Officials of the District Horticulture and Soil Conservation Office, Bishnupur, also attended the programme.
