Shillong, June 9: The Government of Meghalaya has reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening education infrastructure through its flagship initiative, Mission Education, which seeks to provide students across the state with improved classrooms, essential amenities, and a conducive learning environment.

Officials stated that the programme has already upgraded 2,230 schools in multiple phases, with a total investment of Rs. 457.41 crore. In addition, infrastructure development has been undertaken in 182 schools under the Asian Development Bank-supported Supporting Human Capital Development in Meghalaya Project.

Mission Education is designed to move beyond routine repairs of aging school buildings, focusing instead on creating modern, student-friendly campuses. The initiative Emphasizes the state’s vision of ensuring quality education and laying a strong foundation for brighter futures for children in Meghalaya.
