Dimapur Police have arrested a third accused in connection with Women Police Station Case No. 003/26 registered under Sections 64(2), 65(1), 71 and 74 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), read with Section 6 of the POCSO Act.

According to a press note issued by the Office of the Commissioner of Police, Dimapur, the accused has been identified as Akangkokba Ao (68), son of Late Imsunukshi, a resident of Unger village under Changtongya Police Station in Mokokchung district, and presently residing at Residency Colony, Dimapur.

The arrest was made by Dimapur Police on June 7, 2026, as part of the ongoing investigation into the case, the press note stated.
