Agartala, December 22, 2021 : The team of United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) representing Tripura and other states were felicitated by the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MoHFW) during a programme at New Delhi.
Organized on December 17 last, the felicitation programme was held to appreciate the contribution of UNDP in rolling-out Covid Vaccine Intelligence Work (CoWIN) Application in the entire nation.
The application proved to be a gamechanger in the Covid vaccination drive undertaken across the nation.
India has achieved 100 crores vaccination in India through Digital Platform ‘CoWIN’ and UNDP was instrumental in supporting this application to the Government of India (GoI) and 35 states and Union Territories (UTs).
The Senior Project Officer (SPO) and UNDP Tripura supervisor, Dr Supratim Biswas told media persons that, “In total, 46,68,694 Vaccination completed till date in Tripura”.
“Along with thousand of ANMs, CHOs and Teachers acted as Vaccination Officers, the UNDP Team comprising Project Officer-IT at State and Cold chain Managers at 08 District were active in leading this app for digital entries”, he added.
Besides, the Managing Director (MD) of National Health Mission (NHM), Tripura, Dr Siddharth Shiv Jaiswal lauded the role of the State Immunization Team and all Health Workers who were involved in this Covid Vaccination Drive.
Dr Biswas further added that this appreciation is indeed a boost for the state immunization team and all Health workers who were involved in this Vaccination Drive.
