The Kolasib District Vigilance Committee on Fertilizers today convened a meeting at DC Conference Hall; and discussed in length about various issues and scenario of allotment and distribution of fertilizers along the district.
During the meeting, the committee resolved to strengthen monitoring by concerned departments and take-up stringent measures; in order to check the in-flow of fertilizers beyond allotted amount, through the border check-gates.
It was highlighted that during this year, only urea was allotted to the district; despite the fact that DAP and MOP were in considerable demand among farmers.
Additionally, it was claimed that 644.18 MT of urea was allotted to the district; however, this amount fell short of what the farmers required.
