The Madhya Pradesh police have confiscated 1.5 kilograms of smack (contraband drug) worth about Rs 1.5 crore from a hidden chamber of a garlic-laden truck in the Mandsaur district of Madhya Pradesh and arrested two alleged drug traffickers.

According to sources, the drug was sourced from Manipur and destined for Rajasthan.

Based on specific inputs, the police personnel launched an operation on Friday. During the raid, the police personnel intercepted a truck on Gudbheli Road, recovering nearly 1.5 kg of smack from a plastic bag concealed in a secret chamber of the vehicle.

The Pipliya Mandi police station in-charge – Rakesh Choudhary, asserted that the two inter-state traffickers, identified as Bhagwati Lal (37) and Chhote Khan (26), hailed from Pratapgarh district of Rajasthan. They were arrested under provisions of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act.

Interrogation revealed that the smack was brought from Imphal (Manipur) and was on its way to Pratapgarh. Further investigation into the case is underway, Choudhary added.
