Agartala, November 01, 2022: The youth wings of CPIM in Tripura – Democratic Youth Federation of India and central committee of Tribal Youth Federation on Tuesday strongly condemned the blatant use of police by the BJP-led government in suppressing the rights towards democratic movement.

Especially on Monday last and Tuesday, the manner in which the police harassed and used force on the educated unemployed youths who were agitating for employment in the Education and Health sectors is highly condemnable. It is by no means desirable in a democratic system, said DYFI Tripura secretary Nabarun Deb.

He said “Yesterday, the unemployed youths who had passed Nursing, GMN, ANM marched towards the Civil Secretariat demanding the recovery and recruitment of the broken Healthcare system of the state, when the police blocked their way and arrested them using force.”

“Similarly, today when the STGT job aspirants went to agitate demanding filling up of all the vacancies, the police also scuffled with them and arrested them”, he added.

Deb alleged “There is an acute shortage of teachers in every school in the state. A large number of teachers have retired in the last four and a half years. Students are protesting daily on the demand of teachers and blocking the road. Thousands of children in the state are passing D.El.Ed, B.Ed, M.Ed but there is no placement.”

The DYFI state committee and TYF central committee demanded an immediate end to the force being used by the state government to suppress the movement of educated unemployed children. We want to warn the fascist BJP-led government in the state – people are the main force, not police batons.
