Sikkim is gearing up to host the ‘Regu Fish Festival’ from November 21-22 to enhance fish production and showcase the developments in the fishery sector.
The Regu Fish Farmers & Directorate of Fisheries in Animal Husbandry & Veterinary Services (AH&VS) Department will jointly organize the festival. Besides, the National Fisheries Development Board (NFDB), Hyderabad, will support the festival.
Key attractions of the festival include – Traditional Stalls, Cultural Programmes, Fish Feeding, Bird Watching, Nature Walks, etc.
The event aims to generate awareness of the Recirculatory Aquaculture System and Biofloc Fish Farming and promote entrepreneurship in the fish farming sector. It incorporates fishery-related activities, which would help boost the economy of the rural populace.
