KOHIMA, 11th May, 2023: Kohima District Task Force for Immunization held a meeting yesterday to review the process of Routine Immunization (RI) and Measles and Rubella (MR) Elimination drive in the district.

During the meeting, Surveillance Medical Officer, World Health Organization, Dr. Sheila Longkumer highlighted on the issues faced due to the shortage of mobilizers such as ASHA workers and lack of supervision. In this regard, Dr. Sheila urged the members and line department to co-operate to achieve the targeted goal.

DPO (RCH/UIP) Dr. Khrievilhou Nakhro while delivering the status of RI and MR Elimination under Kohima District, informed that the 1st Phase of immunization is underway from April – May and the 2nd Phase will begin by August- September. During the meeting, a decision was taken by the members present to collaborate and cooperate with the line departments in bringing out the right mechanism to boost the percentage of immunization in all Rural and Urban areas under Kohima District.
