In preparation for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections in 2024, the National People’s Party (NPP) made a significant announcement in a formal ceremony at Rasing village, Siang District.
The NPP declared Talem Jamoh, a retired Deputy Director of School Education (DDSE), as its official candidate for the 35th Pangin-Boleng (ST) Assembly Constituency at his native village, Rasing, where he received blessings and good wishes from well-wishers, relatives, and villagers for the upcoming assembly election.
Notable NPP figures attended the candidate declaration program and expressed hope that Talem Jamoh would successfully get elected.
Talem Jamoh’s journey into politics is marked by his extensive career in the field of education, which commenced in 1985 as an Assistant Teacher. He served in various capacities within the education department until his retirement as DDSE in Siang District in 2021. His entry into active politics is expected to bring significant changes to the political landscape of the 35th Pangin-Boleng constituency.
In addition,Jamoh is widely recognized among his former students, peers, and community for his helpful and dedicated nature.
Speaking to the media after his official declaration as the NPP candidate, Talem Jamoh outlined his priorities for the development of his constituency and the state.
He also emphasised the need for efficient utilization of government-allocated funds for public development. Jamoh firmly stated, “I am committing on record before your media that if I am elected, I won’t compromise on the developmental works of my constituency.”
Regarding the controversial issue of the Hydro power dam construction over the Siang River, strongly opposed by the public, Jamoh advocated for an amicable solution through negotiation between the public and the government.
