The Indian National Teachers’ Congress (INTEC), the teachers’ wing of the Congress party, staged a protest at Delhi University’s Arts Faculty on Wednesday, calling for immediate action to restore peace in Manipur. The protestors expressed their solidarity with the people of the northeastern state, which has been rocked by violent clashes between two communities.
As part of their protest, INTEC members submitted a letter to Union Home Minister Amit Shah, urging the central government to take swift and decisive measures to address the ongoing violence. The letter called for an inclusive dialogue involving all stakeholders to resolve the crisis and emphasized the need for strengthened security to protect affected communities.
The unrest in Manipur has resulted in significant loss of life and displacement, with increasing concerns over the worsening situation. INTEC stressed the urgency of government intervention to prevent further violence and ensure lasting peace in the region.
