Imphal, Dec 19: The Union Ministry of Home Affairs has reintroduced the Protected Area Permit (PAP) in Manipur, citing security concerns related to the influx of foreigners from neighbouring countries. This decision, which also impacts Nagaland and Mizoram, was announced in a statement by the state government late Wednesday night.

Under the reimposed PAP regulations, foreign nationals traveling to Manipur will be required to obtain the necessary permits in accordance with the Foreigners (Protected Areas) Order, 1958. The move is aimed at closely monitoring the movement of foreigners to address growing security concerns in the region.
